Ana Sun (pronounced “Soon”) writes from the edge of an ancient town in the south-east of England. She spent her childhood in Malaysian Borneo and grew up living on islands.

One of her earliest Solarpunk stories, Dandelion Brew, earned her a nomination for the inaugural Utopia Award. The Scent of Green was selected for The Best of British Science Fiction 2023. In 2024, she was awarded the Writing Excuses Retreat Scholarship, and her work was named as the second runner-up for The Mo Siewcharran Prize. Her story The Perpetual Metamorphosis of Primrose Close was longlisted for the BSFA Award in the short story category in 2025.

In an alternate universe, she might have been a musician, an anthropologist—or a botanist obsessed with edible flowers.

Say hello via email or @singingtotigers.bsky.social. I am also occasionally on Mastodon at @ana@wandering.shop.

Follow her (very occasional) ramblings at Serendipity & A Time Machine.
